Bristol Palin
, David Hasselhoff and Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino from MTV's raunchy reality show Jersey Shore are set to compete on the 11th season of Dancing With the Stars, E! News said on Thursday, although ABC has refused to comment on casting reports.

The network says an official announcement about who will appear on the ballroom dancing competition series will be made on August 30 during an episode of its dating series Bachelor Pad.

Pamela Anderson, who placed sixth on Dancing With the Stars last season, had told OnTheRedCarpet.com earlier this month at the taping of Hasselhoff's Comedy Central roast that she would like to see her former Baywatch co-star dance on the show. Dancing With the Stars returns on September 20.

Bristol Palin, the 19-year-old daughter of former Alaska governor Sarah Palin, made headlines in early August when she and Levi Johnston called off their second engagement. The two became engaged for the first time in 2008 and gave birth to Tripp that December at age 18, which became a major issue during Sarah Palin's vice presidential campaign, launched that year with Republican presidential candidate John McCain.

Earlier this year, Bristol Palin appeared on an episode of the ABC Family series The Secret Life of the American Teenager, which addresses teen pregnancy, and filmed a public service announcement urging teenagers to be aware of the consequences of sex.

Audrina Patridge of MTV reality show The Hills, which ended in July, and singer Brandy will also be part of the cast of Dancing With the Stars, E! News said, quoting unnamed sources.

Others named in recent days by other entertainment news outlets as contestants include singer Michael Bolton, Dirty Dancing and Ferris Bueller's Day Off actress Jennifer Grey, Brady Bunch matriarch Florence Henderson, Kirstie Alley, NFL stars Troy Aikman and Kurt Warner and Lindsay Lohan, who recently ended jail and rehab stints, given as punishment for violation her probation in a 2007 drunken driving case.

Alley, who starred in the 1980s sitcom Cheers, the Look Who's Talking comedy movies and has poked fun at her weight on two television shows depicting her life, on Thursday denied she would compete on the show.

"Just a rumor... Imagine that. NOT doing DWTS this season... Way too chicken!! Maybe next season if Im invited again!!!" she Tweeted.

The other have not commented on the reports.
