Brenda Song and Trace Cyrus end engagement
Just a week after Miley Cyrus announced her engagement to "Hunger Games" star Liam Hemsworth, her older brother Trace and actress Brenda Song have called off their engagement.
Trace Cyrus confirmed the canceled engagement and the end of their relationship in a statement to People magazine on June 11.
"Brenda and I have decided to go our separate ways," the 23-year-old musician told the magazine. "We split up a couple of months ago. We will continue to focus on our careers."
The couple announced their engagement in October 2011. The two had been dating for a year and spurred pregnancy rumors in August.
Song, 24, is known for her role as London Tipton on "The Suite Life on Deck," a spin-off of the Disney Channel series "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody," which ran between 2005 and 2008.
She also played Christy, the jealous girlfriend of Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin, in the 2010 movie "The Social Network" and had a guest role on the first season of the ABC series "Scandal."
Trace Cyrus, formerly of the group Metro Station, is part of the band Ashland High. Trace and pop star and actress Miley Cyrus, 19, share a biological mother, Tish, and he was adopted by Billy Ray Cyrus.
