Jeff Bauman Jr., who lost his legs below the knees in the Boston Marathon bombing, recently received a hospital visit from Bradley Cooper and New England Patriots receiver Julian Edelman.

The NFL star posted on his Twitter page late on Thursday, April 18, a photo of himself and the Oscar-nominated "Silver Linings Playbook" star standing next the 27-year-old survivor, who is lying on a hospital bed while holding a football and giving a thumbs-up.

"Visited #survivor #stud #hero Jeffrey Bauman Jr. today. He was looking great and is a true inspiration," Edelman Tweeted.

Cooper is in the Boston area filming the movie "American Hustle." He also attended a national interfaith service for the victims of the bombing.. Three people were killed, including an 8-year-old boy, were killed in the attack near the Boston Marathon finish line on Monday. More than 100 were injured.

The New York Times (Warning: Contains graphic image) has described him as an "icon" of the terror attack. A picture of Bauman, with his left leg blown off at the calf, being evacuated in a wheelchair by three people circulated online following the blasts and was published by many outlets, including the newspaper. He later had both legs amputated below the knees.

On Thursday, the FBI released photos of two suspects -- Chechen brothers who moved with their family to the United States about 10 years ago. U.S. authorities killed of the men during a gun battle later that night. The other escaped and a manhunt has been launched. Jeff recognized the dead suspected terrorist after looking at a picture of him on a newspaper while lying in his hospital bed.

"He woke up under so much drugs, asked for a paper and pen and wrote, "bag, saw the guy, looked right at me," his brother Chris Bauman told the Bloomberg news wire.
