Bradley Cooper named 'Sexiest Man Alive of 2011 by People magazine (Poll)
Bradley Cooper, star of films such as "The Hangover" and "Limitless," has been voted the "Sexiest Man Alive" of 2011 by People magazine.
The magazine cited the 36-year-old actor's "dazzling baby blues," "killer smile" as some of his best attributes.
It also touted the Pennsylvania native's ability to speak French, which he demonstrated earlier this year in an interview with French TV station TF1 to promote "Limitless" and "The Hangover Part II," and his close relationship with his mother. His father died in January.
Cooper told the magazine it was "really cool that a guy who doesn't look like a model" can be given the title of "Sexiest Man Alive," adding: "I think I'm a decent-looking guy. Sometimes I can look great, and other times I look horrifying."
Last year, People magazine awarded "Green Lantern" actor Ryan Reynolds the title of "Sexiest Man Alive.". Others who have received the honor include Johnny Depp, Hugh Jackman, Matt Damon, George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Mel Gibson.
In his interview with People, Cooper described himself as a "single man" but added that he does not see himself as a "ladies man."
The actor has been linked romantically to several top actresses over the years, namely Renee Zellweger. The two broke up earlier this year after dating since about 2009. The actress even traveled to Thailand with him as he filmed "The Hangover Part II" last year, sources told OnTheRedCarpet.com.
Earlier this year, Cooper and Jennifer Lopez, who was named People magazine's Most Beautiful Person of 2011, sparked romance rumors after the two were seen dining together. However, earlier this week, it was reported the "American Idol" host is dating a backup dancer named Casper Smart. They have not commented.
Cooper has also been linked romantically to Olivia Wilde, his co-star in the upcoming thriller "The Words," and to Jennifer Aniston, who later confirmed she was in a relationship with a different actor - Justin Theroux. Cooper and Wilde did not comment directly about the reports.
Cooper began his on-screen career in the late 1990s, appearing on an episode of the R-rated HBO series "Sex and the City." His breakout role came in 2001, when he began playing Will Tippin on the spy series "Alias," which starred Jennifer Garner.
He went on to star in the 2009 romantic comedy "He's Just Not That Into You," playing an unfaithful husband who tries to sleep with Scarlett Johansson's character, and also starred on the series "Nip/Tuck" as Aidan Stone. The same year, he starred in the first "Hangover" comedy film and in 2010, had a main part in the movie adaptation of the action series "The A-Team."
Aside from "The Words," due out in 2012, Cooper has several film projects in the works, including the romantic comedy "Outrun" with Kristin Chenoweth and real-life couple Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard and "Paradise Lost," in which he plays Lucifer.
