'Bond 23' due in November 2012, sees return of Daniel Craig
The 23rd James Bond movie, tentatively dubbed "Bond 23," is set for release in Nov. 9, 2012 and will see Daniel Craig reprising his role as the British secret agent.
EON Productions and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc announced recently that the movie will commence production in late 2011. Sam Mendes has been named as its director and the film will be based on a screenplay written by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade and John Logan.
Filming had been suspended amid MGM's recent financial troubles. The studio filed for Chapter 11 backruptcy protection last year and a New York judge accepted its reorganization plan in December.
Craig last starred as top agent 007 in the 2009 James Bond movie "Quantum of Solace," which stars "Bond Girls" Olga Kurylenko and Gemma Arterton. Mendes has directed movies such as "American Beauty" and "Road to Perdition."
Craig can also be seen in the sci-fi Western movie "Cowboys & Aliens" with Harrison Ford and Olivia Wilde when it is released on July 29.
