08/09/2012 by Kristina Lopez

Bobbi Kristina Brown, the only child of the late singer and actress Whitney Houston, got a tattoo in honor of her mother on the eve of what would have been Houston's 49th birthday.

On August 8, the 19-year-old, who is also the daughter of singer Bobby Brown, Tweeted a photo of her new tattoo, which features Houston's initials W and H surrounded by birds.

Bobbi Kristina Brown got the tattoo with her "adopted brother" Nick Gordon, who has been previously rumored to be Bobbi Kristina's boyfriend. Both of their tattoos can be seen in the photo above and Bobbi Kristina's arm can be seen on the far right.

"Tat tat tatted YURP.. ;) now your truly ALWAYS with us mommy (: we love you@nickdgordon always&forever{<3}," Bobbi Kristina wrote on her Twitter page, linking to her instagram photo of the tattoo, on August 8.

Thursday, August 9, would have been Houston's 49th birthday.

Houston died on February 11 at the age of 48 inside a hotel room at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, a day before the 2012 Grammy Awards. She was found in a bathtub and her death was ruled an accidental drowning, spurred by cocaine use and a pre-existing heart condition.

In March, Bobbi Kristina gave her first interview after her mother's death, with Oprah Winfrey on the media mogul's struggling network, OWN. The special drew 3.5 million viewers.

Bobbi Kristina has already made a move towards show business. The 19-year-old daughter of Whitney and Bobby Brown recently signed on for a recurring role on Tyler Perry's TBS comedy, "For Better or Worse."

In addition, her family will appear on a ten-episode Lifetime docu-series called "The Houston Family Chronicles." The series will follow the singer's mother Cissy Houston, Bobbi Kristina, sister-in-law and manager Pat Houston, her brother Gary and their daughter Rayah.

Houston made her last on-screen appearance in the remake "Sparkle" with "American Idol" winner Jordin Sparks. It was her first role since the 1997 TV movie "Cinderella." The film is set to hit theaters on August 17. Check out the trailer below.
