Blake Lewis talks 'American Idol', Reality Rocks Expo
"American Idol" fans remember Blake Lewis as the beat-boxing, chance-taking, charismatic, out of this world character who finished runner-up to Jordin Sparks on season six of the competition.
But these days, Blake is lending his skills to the internet, starring in a stream of viral videos.
"I'm just trying to think out of the box, and the internet videos are kinda killin' it right now," Lewis told Rachel Smith of OnTheRedCarpet.com "So I started my own channel, and it's doing well, and I'm just having fun with it, trying to make really really creative videos."Lewis also dished on the new season of "American Idol," saying: "I think this season, they're doing a great job. They're bringing in like the best in the industry, the main producers. Jimmy Iovine is doing a great job."
"Now they've warmed up, they've gotten to a point where the show is really good," Lewis added. "Jennifer Lopez is just bangin' hot, and is on point. Like everything she says is awesome, and I'm just like I just watch the Jennifer Lopez show now."
He laughed, "No, the contestants are amazing this year. They're really talented, they have amazing vocals."
Lewis will be joining other "American Idol" alums at the Reality Rocks Expo April 9th and 10th in Downtown L.A.
"I will be having a panel with some fellow "American Idol" alumni. Andrew Garcia, Michael Johns, and a bunch of others," he said. "Fans should come out and see me, because I'm easy to talk to and I talk to everyone. And I'll perform. I'll perform my sweet little cheeks off."
