Bjork took to her official website to reveal that she recently had surgery to remove a vocal cord polyp and that the surgery was a complete success.

The 47-year-old singer wrote that when doctors initially discovered the polyp, she opted for a natural way of handling it.

"Few years ago doctors found a vocal polyp on me chords ... I decided to go the natural way and for 4 years did stretches and tackled it with different foods and what not," Bjork said. "Then they discovered better technology and I got tempted into hi tech lazer [sic] stuff and I have to say, in my case anyway, surgery rocks!"

She went on to say that she had to stay quiet for three weeks following her surgery. She "then started singing and definitely feel like my chords are as good as pre nodule!"

The singer apologized to her fans for having to cancel shows earlier this year, but mentioned that she was "so looking forward to singing for you in 2013."

The singer is known for her eclectic music and fashion style and has been nominated for Grammy Awards, an Academy Award and two Golden Globe awards. The singer released her eighth full-length studio album, "Biophilia," in October 2011. She has also acted in a few films including "Dancer in the Dark" and "The Juniper Tree."

Singer Adele had minor surgery in 2011 to remove a benign polyp on her vocal cords as well.
