Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus call off divorce, reports says
Billy Ray Cyrus and Tish Cyrus, the parents of Miley Cyrus, have reportedly called off their divorce and are working on their relationship in couples therapy.
Tish filed for divorce from Billy Ray on June 12. At the time, the two released similar statements which said, "We are doing what is in the best interest of our family. We ask that you respect our privacy at this time."
That news came three years after Billy Ray filed his own divorce papers in 2010. The couple later reconciled and Billy Ray withdrew his petition in 2011.
Now, according to a joint statement from the couple to People magazine, the two have once again called off their divorce.
"We both woke up and realized we love each other and decided we want to stay together," the couple told the magazine on Monday, July 22. "We both went into couples therapy something we haven't done in 22 years of being together, and it's brought us closer together and really opened up our communication in amazing ways."
Tish posted a photo of herself and Billy Ray (see above) on her Instagram account on Saturday, July 21, with the caption "Date Night."
Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus have been married since December 1993. Together the couple has five children. The country singer also has a son, 20-year-old Christopher, from a previous relationship.
