Billy Ray Cyrus reacts to Miley Cyrus' 'Wrecking Ball' video
Billy Ray Cyrus recently shared his opinion about his daughter's latest controversial music video.
Miley Cyrus released the video for the single "Wrecking Ball" earlier this week and the clip features scenes with the 20-year-old naked and straddling a wrecking ball. The video quickly became the most-viewed video in 24 hours on VEVO.
Miley addressed the controversy in a radio interview on Wednesday, Sept. 11, saying that viewers should instead focus on her eyes. However, for her father Billy Ray, it's all about Miley's vocal performance and the song.
Billy Ray told ETOnline on Wednesday, "...It wouldn't have mattered if Miley would have worn jeans and a flannel shirt ... a Tux ... or a nun's habit. The song's a smash ... and her performance vocally on the tune reflects her roots and sheer God given talent."
Billy Ray has been supportive of his daughter's headline-making antics in the past. Two days after her much talked about performance with Robin Thicke at the MTV Video Music Awards, Miley tweeted a quote by her father which said, "'Mile, if twerkin woulda been invented.... And I had a foam finger.... I woulda done the same thang you did.'"
"Wrecking Ball" is off Miley's upcoming album "Bangerz," which is due out on Oct. 8. The singer recently tweeted that if the "Wrecking Ball" video hits 150 million views, a director's cut will be released. The video is currently at over 51 million viewers on Miley's YouTube channel at the time of this writing.
