Billy Ray Cyrus calls off divorce proceedings
Billy Ray Cyrus has decided to call-off divorce proceedings from Miley Cyrus' mother Tish.
"I've dropped the divorce," Cyrus says during an interview on "The View" in an episode on Friday. "I want to put my family back together... Things are the best they've ever been."
Cyrus and Tish announced their plans to end their 17-year marriage in October and as previously reported in February, the country singer said that "Hannah Montana," the Disney show that made Miley a star and brought Billy Ray back to relevence, had "destroyed my family."
Later in the month, the singer said that he was "mending" his family.
"I don't think Hannah Montana ruined my family" Cyrus clarified during "The View" taping on Thursday. "Now fame, fame is a different animal. You've got to be careful with that thing."
Billy Ray Cyrus, who is also a singer and is known for the 1992 country rock hit "Achy Breaky Heart, denies reports he exploited his daughter for profit after playing her on-screen father in the show.
He and Miley Cyrus raised eyebrows when they posed together for a Vanity Fair photo spread in 2008, which included a photo of the then-15-year-old girl appearing semi-topless. She also came under fire for pole-dancing at the 2009 Teen Choice Awards.
"I feel like I got my Miley back in a way," Cyrus told "The View" on Friday. "I feel like we are the daddy and daughter that we were before Hannah Montana happened."
