Billy Bob Thornton's estranged daughter Amanda Brumfield was recently found guilty of aggravated manslaughter of a child regarding the 2008 death of her best friend's 1-year-old daughter, Olivia Madison Garcia.
Brumfield, 31, was booked at a Florida jail late on Friday, May 27 after the verdict was made, according to records obtained by OnTheRedCarpet.com.
Brumfield had said Garcia hit her head by accident and that the girl had fallen while trying to climb out of a playpen, while the defense also suggested the fall may have aggravated a previous injury, causing her death, the Orlando Sentinel newspaper reported.
It also quoted prosecutors as saying it was "impossible" that a fall from that height would cause a three-and-a-half inch fracture on the back of the girl's skull and the bleeding and swelling found in her brain.
Brumfield was arrested and indicted in 2009. She had also faced charges of first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse and was found not guilty. She is expected to face sentencing on the manslaughter charge in July and could be given a life sentence.
Thornton has not commented. Brumfield is one of his four children - from three different women - and her mother is Thornton's first wife, Melissa Lee Gatlin. The actor has been married and divorced five times, most recently to actress Angelina Jolie. The two were married between 2000 and 2003 and have no children together.
