Bill Nye reveals 'Dancing With The Stars' knee injury, shares photo
"Dancing With The Stars" contestant Bill Nye has shared a photo of himself with a knee bandage after suffering an injury during his recent performance and adds that he and partner Tyne Stecklein still plan to dance next week.
ABC had said on Tuesday that the 57-year-old, known for his show "Bill Nye, The Science Guy," was injured on Monday's show and was "seeking medical attention" but did not disclose more details. It marked the first public injury of the current 17th season, which began last week.
"Here is the scoop: partially torn ligament," Nye said in a caption alongside a photo posted on his Instagram page. "Awaiting the doc's orders with Tyne. We plan to dance! Stand by..."
He also tweeted: "Working w/ a partially torn ligament. Plan to be dancin' next week. Stand by (or rather, elevate your leg by...)"
Nye and Stecklein came in last place on Monday's episode, which marked the secound round of performances for season 17. Following a natiowide vote, they survived elimination that night (read a recap of the episode.)
