Beyonce's sonogram to be shown in HBO documentary - See video
A new trailer for the HBO documentary special on Beyonce, titled "Beyonce: Life Is But a Dream," reveals that the singer will show her sonogram from the time she was pregnant with her first child, daughter Blue Ivy.
The trailer, which can be viewed below, hit the web on January 12 and a clip of the sonogram can be seen at the :47 second mark. Beyonce can be seen rehearsing and showing off her baby bump just before she revealed the news to the world.
"People see celebrities and they have money and fame but I'm a human being," the singer says in the trailer. "I cry, I get scared, I get nervous just like everyone else."
"Power is not given to you, you have to take it," she adds. "You're playing a part in a much bigger show and that's what life is."
HBO describes the documentary as "a multi-faceted portrait of the 16-time Grammy Award-winning singer, businesswoman, songwriter, actress, entrepreneur, wife and mother, showing off the extraordinary gifts that have made her a global phenomenon, and stripping away the veneer of stardom."
The documentary, which was directed by Beyonce, is said to include first-person footage shot by Beyonce on her laptop as she reflects about her life in the spotlight and becoming a mother. The singer serves as the film's executive producer.
"Everybody knows Beyonce's music, but few know Beyonce the person," said Michael Lombardo, president, HBO Programming, said in a statement recently. "Along with electrifying footage of Beyonce onstage, this unique special looks beyond the glamour to reveal a vibrant, vulnerable, unforgettable woman."
Earlier this week it was announced that the singer was chosen by President Barack Obama to sing the national anthem at his second inauguration ceremony on January 21. Kelly Clarkson and James Taylor are also set to perform.
In addition, Beyonce teamed up with her fellow Destiny's Child group members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams to release a new compilation album, which contains the R&B trio's first new song in eight years.
Beyonce's HBO documentary special is set to debut on February 16. Check out the new trailer below.
