Pepsi has announced a new multi-year promotional partnership with Beyonce, estimated to be worth $50 million, after working with the R&B superstar for about 10 years.
The 31-year-old singer, who first served as a spokesmodel for the soda brand in 2002, will be featured in print and in-store ads and her face will be displayed on Pepsi cans. She will also star in a new commercial for the company, which is part of its "Live For Now" campaign, starting in early 2013, Pepsi said in a statement obtained by OTRC.com.
The deal was first announced on Sunday in the New York Times and comes ahead of the release of her fifth album, which is expected to hit stores next year.
"Pepsi embraces creativity and understands that artists evolve," Beyonce said in a statement to the newspaper. "As a businesswoman, this allows me to work with a lifestyle brand with no compromise and without sacrificing my creativity."
Also in 2013, the Grammy-winning singer is set to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show.
Other celebrities who have appeared in Pepsi ads in the past include Michael Jackson, Britney Spears, "Modern Family" actress Sofia Vergara, the Spice Girls, One Direction and New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees.
