Beyonce performs for the first time since giving birth
Beyonce Knowles performed in Atlantic City on Friday, for the first time since giving birth to daughter Blue Ivy Carter in January.
The 30-year-old revealed her slim post-baby figure in one-of-a-kind revealing Ralph & Russo designs, which featured 500,000 Swarovski Elements crystals. Though the singer said she was nervous for her comeback, the New York Times said the sold-out performance "ran rampant, functioning as an almost continuous high point."
Beyonce, who is set to perform three more shows at the Revel Resort in the New Jersey resort town over the Memorial Day weekend, performed songs like "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)," "Countdown" and "Run the World (Girls)." Tickets for the performances, held in the 5,500 capacity venue, VIP tickets can be purchased for $700.
Beyonce also paid tribute to the late Whitney Houston, performing a cover of "I Will Always Love You," which led into her hit, "Halo."
Prior to her debut, Beyonce released a video where she discussed her "back to work" performance and showed all the work that went into the effort, including getting back in shape and choreographing the shows.
"I'm feeling a little nervous. I'm enjoying being a mother, so it's a bit like coming back to my old job," Beyonce said in the video (watch below). "It's a little strange, but it's important that you don't lose yourself and you still have your own passions. I'm back to work. I'm back in business."
The songstress announced the Revel concerts in March and tickets for the event went on sale on April 6.
