Beyonce is teaming up with H&M for the retail clothing chain's summer ad campaign, the company announced on Thursday, March 21.
The 31-year-old singer will appear in television and print ads featuring pieces from H&M's summer collection. According to the company, the print and outdoor billboards introduce "Beyonce as Mrs. Carter in H&M." The clothing featured in the ads will be available beginning May in H&M stores worldwide and online.
The campaign images were shot in Nassau in the Bahamas by photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. There will also be a commercial, which was directed by Jonas Akerlund, and it will feature a new song from Beyonce called "Standing On The Sun."
"I've always liked H&M's focus on fun and affordable fashion. I really loved the concept we collaborated on to explore the different emotions of women represented by the four elements -- fire, water, earth and wind," Beyonce said in a statement. "It was a beautiful shoot on a tropical island. It felt more like making a video than a commercial."
Ann-Sofie Johansson, Head of Design at H&M, said in a statement about the collection, "There's the perfect bodycon dress, as well as a flowing sun dress that makes a real statement. And of course there are the bikinis, especially the fringed bikini. What makes these pieces even more special is that Beyonce herself had input into the design, and they are full of her own personal style."
Earlier this month, Beyonce debuted a new song on her website called "Bow Down / I Been On." The track is a grittier sound for the singer and includes expletives. The song marks the first new music fans have heard from Beyonce since the release of her 2011 LP, "Four."
Beyonce is set to kick off her worldwide tour in April.
