Betty White tops America's 'Most Trusted Celebrity' list
Betty White is officially the most beloved celebrity in the country.
The 89-year-old "Golden Girls" actress was named America's "Most Trusted Celebrity" and the country's "Most Popular Celebrity" in a recent poll released by Reuters/Ipsos on August 17, 2011.
White was listed as the person most likely to bring business to a brand she chose to endorse, while on the opposite end of the spectrum, socialite Paris Hilton and former "Two and a Half Men" star Charlie Sheen were listed as the least popular celebrities.
White, who is the only surviving cast member of "Golden Girls," has made a comeback recently, appearing in films like "The Proposal" and "You Again."
The actress has also become one of the most popular senior television stars, especially following a "Saturday Night Live" hosting stint last year, which earned the "Golden Girls" star her fifth Emmy Award. She is up for another nomination at this year's ceremony for her role as Elka Ostrovsky in the TV land comedy series "Hot in Cleveland." (Check out a full list of 2011 Emmy nominations.)
The actress earned an 86 percent favorability rating in the poll of 2,012 Americans. Other celebs who were considered highly trustable include Tom Hanks, Sandra Bullock, Morgan Freeman, Kate Middleton Duchess of Cambridge, Oprah Winfrey and Taylor Swift.
The most unpopular celeb list featured names like Kanye West, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tiger Woods, Kim Kardashian, Mel Gibson, Donald Trump and LeBron James.
