Austin Mahone health update: Singer treated for blood clot - report
Teen pop star Austin Mahone, who was hospitalized this week after experiencing flu-like symptoms, has been treated for a blood clot, a report says.
Photos of the 17-year-old pop star on a hospital bed, hooked up to an IV line, were posted on his and his mother's Instagram pages a day earlier (see above). Austin had postponed his upcoming tour as a result of his illness, which he initially said was a "bad flu.".
On Friday, his spokesperson told People magazine that Austin "was admitted to the hospital with 104 temperature and is being treated for a blood clot and extreme inflammation in his throat, as well as severe dehydration."
The rep did not specify where the clot originated. His mother, Michele Mahone, shared a picture of a pack of Aquafina water bottles on her Instagram page on Friday, saying: "Stocking up on @Aquafina to keep Austin hydrated and back to good health! :)"
