Audrina Patridge dons bikini on new show's premiere
Audrina Patridge's new VH1 reality show "Audrina" debuted on Sunday, April 17 and featured the former "Hills" star wearing - what else - a bikini.
In the episode, the 25-year-old posed in swimsuits for a sexy but "awkward" photo shoot. Patridge rose to fame with the hit MTV reality show "The Hills" and was introduced on the show's pilot in 2006 wearing a bikini. She also donned one in Carls Jr. commercials that ran last year.
"Posing half naked in front of a bunch of guys, you know everyone's staring at you and you're trying to do your best to look sexy and pose and it's super awkward," Patridge says in the first episode of "Audrina." "This is my first bikini calendar. Whenever I'm 60, I can look back and have that calendar, and show my grandkids, 'Look, this is what I used to look like.'"
Patridge also introduced her family, including her mother Lynn, who was famously seen "drunk-ranting" to a celebrity photographer about her daughter's elimination from ABC ballroom dancing show "Dancing With The Stars" after it occurred in the fall of 2010.
"I'm only human and it really just disappointed me with that 'Dancing with The Stars,'" Patridge's mother says on "Audrina." " I think she should've won. I have no excuse for it. I'm not perfect. I had something to say. I get in those moods. That's just who I am. It happens."
Patridge told OnTheRedCarpet.com earlier this month that her new how is "really about me and my life and me being mature and taking my fans with me on this journey after 'The Hills.'"
The MTV reality series starred Lauren Conrad as its main heroine and ended in July 2010. Conrad, 25, filmed and sold a new show based on her fashion design career but MTV opted not to air it in the end. Conrad said: "We delivered the show that we sold and are sorry MTV didn't feel their viewers were savvy enough to appreciate it."
A spokesperson for MTV, which also airs shows such as the raunchy reality programs "Jersey Shore" and "The Real Word," did not explain why the project was dropped but said the network hopes to work with Conrad again in the future.
