Ashley Judd, husband Dario Franchitti split after 11 years
Ashley Judd and husband Dario Franchitti, a Scottish racecar driver, are ending their 11-year marriage.
The pair announced the news to People magazine on Tuesday, January 29. They have no children together.
"We have mutually decided to end our marriage," Judd, 44, and Franchitti, 39, said in their statement. "We'll always be family and continue to cherish our relationship based on the special love, integrity, and respect we have always enjoyed."
No reason was given for their split. The two wed in Scotland in 2001 after being engaged for about two years. It is unclear if divorce papers were filed.
"Family forever. @dariofranchitti," Judd added on Twitter.
Judd is known for roles in films like "Kiss the Girls" and "Double Jeopardy" and has been making headlines in recent months due to hints that she may get into politics. She responded to reports about a possible Senate run while speaking at The Kentucky Society of Washington's Bluegrass Ball on January 19, saying she is "certainly taking a close look at it."
