Ashley Hebert, new 'Bachelorette,' is 'smart' but 'insecure,' show host says
Ashley Hebert, ABC's new "Bachelorette," is "smart" but "insecure," show host Chris Harrison says.
The 26-year-old dental student placed third on the recent 15th season of "The Bachelor." Hebert will choose from among a group of 25 male contestants on the upcoming seventh season of "The Bachelorette," which is set to begin airing on May 23.
"She has this great, infectious charisma and charm and warmth and great sense of humor," "The Bachelor" host Chris Harrison told OnTheRedCarpet.com about Hebert.
"Yet she's a very smart, articulate, professional woman, serious about her career," he added. "Which is fun - we've never had a professional woman as our 'Bachelorette,' which is really cool. But at the same time, she's very insecure. She has her vulnerabilities."
On Monday's finale, Brad Womack proposed to Emily Maynard and she accepted. Chantal O'Brien came in second place.
"I've been single for almost four years," Hebert said on ABC talk show "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Monday night, when she was announced as the "Bachelorette" star.
She added that she has only been on about five real dates during that time.
