Ashley Greene's dog dies in condo fire, 1 saved (Update, video)
"Twilight" alum Ashley Greene suffered a tragic loss on Friday, March 22 when one of her two little dogs died in a fire that destroyed her rented West Hollywood condo.
The blaze erupted just before 10 a.m. local time at the seven-story building and firefighters put it out within about 15 minutes, fire officials told OTRC.com's parent company, KABC Television. Residents evacuated the structure before rescuers arrived.
The actress, who played Alice Cullen in the "Twilight" vampire movies, has not commented and it is unclear if she was home at the time of the fire, which was limited to "the room of origin," according to Los Angeles County Fire Inspector Tony Imbrenda. Fire officials confirmed that one of Greene's two dogs died in the blaze. People magazine reported that the other pet was rescued.
The cause of the fire remains undetermined, OTRC.com has learned.
"It was really chaotic. There was just a lot of noise, and people were screaming and saying, 'Get out of the building,'" neighbor Anne Lobell said.
"It was scary. I grabbed [my] dogs, grabbed a robe and just bounced," added another neighbor, Laney Ota.
Three people suffered minor injuries but declined to be taken to a hospital, KABC reported.
