Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz divorce finalized
The divorce of Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz has been finalized, according to court documents obtained by OnTheRedCartpet.com.
The former couple's divorce was finalized by a judge on November 22 and the terms of the divorce have been kept confidential. The pair entered into a 103-page settlement agreement, but the document will only be filed if the couple has a dispute about it later on.
The filing does not give details about custody arrangements for Bronx Mowgli Wentz, the couple's 3-year-old son.
Simpson filed for divorce from Wentz in February. The 27-year-old sister of fellow pop singer Jessica Simpson cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. Wentz is a 32-year-old musician who is likely best known for being the former bassist of the rock band Fall Out Boy.
The two married on May 16, 2008 at her parents' home in Encino, California. Their son was born the following November.
In September, Simpson made her red carpet debut with "Boardwalk Empire" star Vincent Piazza at an event for the show's season premiere. Simpson has since been linked to Piazza, who plays Lucky Luciano on the HBO series.
Meanwhile Wentz is reportedly dating model Megan Camper.
Wentz opened up about the divorce on Ryan Seacrest's radio show in March, telling the host, "Ashlee's been my best friend for five years; she's the mother of my child. I have nothing but love and respect for her and going through something like this isn't easy, but we're friends and the most important thing is to put our son first."
