Annette Bening, Julianne Moore are lesbian moms in 'Kids are Alright' Annette Bening and Julianne Moore play a same-sex couple in the new movie The Kids Are Alright, which sees their children finding their biological father and the womens' sperm donor, played by Mark Ruffalo, and bringing him into the family's lives.

"If it's told honestly, it transcends even the most wacky ideas," Ruffalo told On The Red Carpet's Rachel Smith at a recent premiere for the movie in Los Angeles.

Moore said The Kids Are Alright, which opens on Friday, is "is kind of about all of us, what it's like to grow up, what's like to watch your child leave you, what it's like to maintain a long-term relationship, all the things that family means to us."
