Angelina Jolie was 'owning' her leggy look at Oscars says 'Descendants' Jim Rash - See video
When "Descendants" co-screenwriter Jim Rash appeared on the Oscar stage for his win for Best Adapted Screenplay, he took the opportunity to poke a little fun at Angelina Jolie's leg-baring pose she did while presenting the award.
The screenwriter, who is likely best known as an actor for his role as Dean Pelton on "Community," explained to OnTheRedCarpet.com at the Paley Festival on March 3 why he pulled the move.
"I enjoyed that she sort of chuckled when she did it," Rash said. "I thought she was owning it and rocking that look, as she should, and I thought it would be a fun way for me to own a proud moment."
Jolie, dressed in a black velvet Atelier Versace gown with a slit, showed off her leg while posing on the red carpet before the ceremony (see photos). Her pose was mocked online by viewers and spurred one of them to create a Twitter account called Angie's Right Leg.
Shortly after the Oscar ceremony on February 26, Rash said backstage at the Oscars that it was a "loving tribute" to the actress.
Meanwhile, Rash also teased about what viewers can expect from Dean Pelton when "Community" returns from hiatus on March 15 at 8 p.m.
The show stars "The Soup" host Joel McHale as Jeff Winger, a former lawyer who goes to Greendale Community College to get his bachelor's degree after it is discovered he lied about having one. Once there, he unwillingly becomes part of a study group that includes Donald Glover, "Mad Men" actress Allison Brie, Danny Pudi, Yvette Nicole Brown, Gillian Jacobs and Chevy Chase. Rash plays the school's flamboyant Dean.
When the show returns, Rash said we'll see his character "[in] a lot of outfits, a lot of midriff and just a lot more of chasing after Jeff."
He also talked about his favorite part of the series, saying, "I think the characters, in general, the way they've stuck true to these characters. Even when we're doing crazy paint ball or when we're going to space, the characters stay true."
A new episode of "Community" is set to air on March 15 at 8 p.m. on NBC.
