Angelina Jolie returns to red carpet in gray Atelier Versace dress (Poll)
Angelina Jolie wore a gray, long sleeve, knee length, cashmere wool Atelier Versace wrap cocktail dress with draping to the American Society of Cinematographers' 27th Annual Outstanding Achievement Awards on Sunday, February 10, in what marked her first red carpet appearance in almost a year.
The ceremony was held at the Hollywood & Highland Center in Los Angeles. Jolie, 37, completed her look with silver peeptoe pumps and gold earrings and nude makeup.
The actress last walked a major press line in March 2012, at the Women in the World: Stories & Solutions event in New York and last appeared on an actual red carpet at the 2012 Oscars, where she also wore an Atelier Versace creation -- a black gown with a thigh high slit, which has become one of her most famous outfits.
The actress, who is a special envoy for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, has spent the past year on humanitarian missions. She visited Syrian refugee camps on the Jordanian and Turkish borders and also met with the Turkish deputy prime minister in September.
The actress recently filmed the Disney movie "Maleficent," which is set for release in July 2014. The actress plays the title character, one of Disney's most evil villains, in the studio's "Sleeping Beauty" live-action movie spin-off.
"She's incredible and she looks just amazing as Maleficent with the horns and everything," Elle Fanning, who plays the teenage version of Princess Aurora in the film," told OTRC.com in October. "She's been so nice to me and she's so motherly."
Jolie's and fiancé Brad Pitt's youngest daughter, Vivienne, plays the younger version of Princess Aurora.
