Andy Griffith promotes U.S. President Barack Obama's health care law to senior citizens in a new commercial paid for by Medicare.
"This year, like always, we'll have our guaranteed benefits and with the new health care law, more good things are coming," the 84-year-old actor says in the ad, petting a yellow labrador retriever. "I think you're going to like it."
Griffith starred in several television shows and movies, including The Andy Griffith Show in the 1960s as well as the series Matlock in 1986. He also appeared on an episode of Dawson's Creek in 2001.
The ad is set to run on channels seniors tend watch, such as the Weather Channel, CNN, Hallmark and Lifetime, at an initial cost of $700,000, the Associated Press said.
