Andy Dick returns to rehab, following on-air intervention, report says
Comedian Andy Dick returned to rehab, following on-air intervention on his Internet TV show, "Andy Dick Live!"
The 46-year-old actor and comedian reportedly checked into the Oasis Treatment Center in California on Tuesday, after his friends and co-workers staged an live intervention on his web series.
During a recent episode, Dick's boss Alki David said, "I told you the other day, if this continues, we can't carry on. And if you decide to leave and not do that [check into rehab], I'm afraid that we can't carry on here together."
After breaking down in tears, Dick hugged the cast and crew and was escorted to the Anaheim, California treatment center, according to Celebuzz.
Dick and his rep had no immediate comment on the reports.Dick has been treated for substance abuse in the past and appeared on a spin-off of "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew" called "Sober House" in 2009. Dick's current Twitter profile description reads "Sometimes sober. sometimes not. get off my back already!"
Dick made headlines in May 2011, after being arrested and booked for misdemeanor disorderly conduct involving drugs with alcohol. He was released after posting $500 bail.
He has been arrested before. In 2008, he received probation and pleading guilty after he was found drunk outside a California restaurant. In 2010, he was charged with sexual abuse over allegations he groped a bouncer at a bar in West Virginia.
