Amy Poehler on 'Parks and Recreation' fans: 'I just like their faces'
Amy Poehler gives the fans of "Parks and Recreation" props for helping to keep the NBC comedy series on the air.
The show was in March renewed for a fourth season. Poehler, a 39-year-old former "Saturday Night Live" cast member, plays Leslie Knope, Deputy Director of a Parks and Recreation department.
"We have such nice fans," Poehler recently told OnTheRedCarpet.com host Chris Balish at a "Parks and Recreation" Emmy screening event, waving to a nearby crowd. "I just like their faces. They all look like nice people. Not a weirdo in the bunch."
"We really have always cared very deeply about the people that watch us," she added. "It's why we're still on the air. I think it resonates for people in a really nice way - people feel like they own part of it, which is always good."
The show's third season wrapped up last week and its fourth season is set to begin airing in the fall.
"They set up these really tough things at the end of their season," Poehler said about the show's regular writers. "We have to untie those knots."
