Amy Poehler and the cast of "Parks and Recreation" recently gathered to celebrate the show's 100th episode.

The show, which premiered on NBC back in April 2009, launched its sixth season in September and will air its 100th episode of the show this season. In addition to Poehler as Leslie Knope, deputy director of the Pawnee Parks and Recreation Department, the show boasts numerous comedic talents including Rashida Jones, Aubrey Plaza, Chris Pratt, Adam Scott and Rob Lowe.

At the cast's 100th episode party on Oct. 16, OTRC.com spoke to Poehler and her cast mates. The actress said the show's milestone is not a wrap party, but a half-way point.

"They're going to have to pry this show out of my cold, dead hands," Poehler said to OTRC.com. "I'm not going anywhere, but I know that we have loved working here and want to continue if we can, how we can, and NBC has been very kind to keep us on the air in many cases and I'd like to think that we've showed them and have been showing them the kind of show that we are proud of doing. I think they're proud of it too."

The comedy series will also experience a major casting change-up this season, with the departure of two of its lead stars, Jones and Lowe, who play Ann Perkins and Chris Traeger, respectively. The duo's characters, who are romantically linked on the show, have planned to move to another state and are also expecting a baby.

Lowe, who joined the cast in season 2 following his exit from the ABC series "Brothers & Sisters," told OTRC.com that while leaving the show is bittersweet, he is happy to go out while the show is still on top.

"It kind of feels like the perfect symmetry," Lowe said to OTRC.com. "I think it's important in life to leave the party at the right time and going out on top is important to me. The show is as good now as it ever was and will continue to be long after I'm gone and it was a great run and good to go out while everyone's feeling so good about it."
