American Music Awards 2011: Which performer do you think stole the show? (Poll)
Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, Nicki Minaj LMFAO and Justin Bieber and were among the artists who performed at the 2011 American Music Awards, which aired live on ABC on Sunday, November 20.
Lopez, 42, stripped down to a nude-toned bodysuit with glitter, bringing to mind Britney Spears' look at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards, during her sexually-charged performance, which also featured a suggestive dance with featured Pitbull as well as an actual Fiat vehicle. The rapper later performed with Lopez's soon-to-be-ex-husband, Marc Anthony.
Perry wore a pink, futuristic outfit - complete with a gravity-defying hairstyle - and played a pink guitar as she performed her new song, the balled "The One That Got Away."
Clarkson wore a red, glittery, mermaid gown during her performance of "Mr. Know It All," which channeled a vintage New York "Newsies"-like theme, just days after Disney, which owns ABC, announced it is developing a Broadway musical based on the cult 1992 movie about young newspaper seller in New York at the turn of the 20th century.
Minaj performed a new song, "Turn Me On," with David Guetta and also sang her her hip hop hits "Where Them Girls At" and "Super Bass," while audience members and pop stars Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez were shown singing along in their seats.
Pop and dance group LMFAO closed the show with a performance of the hit song "Party Rock Anthem," which featured members Redfoo and Sky Blua and even guest dancer David Hasselhoff doing the thrusting dance "The Wiggle" in what appeared to be boxer shorts with smiley faces in the crotch area. Justin Bieber showed off his shuffling skills but remaining in his bright yellow and striped pants.
The show also featured performances from the likes of Christina Aguilera and Maroon 5, Kelly Clarkson, Chris Brown, Drake, Daughtry, Enrique Iglesias with Ludacris, Gym Class Heroes, Lil Jon, OneRepublic, will.i.am, Mary J. Blige and The Band Perry.
Along with the performances, Hollywood's best brought their A-game to the carpet. From long sequened gowns to satin dresses with slits, stars such as Selena Gomez, Katy Perry and Taylor Swift brought their best looks to the show. Who had the best look?
