'American Idol' results show: Who will be voted off?

03/03/2011 by Corinne Heller

The 24 remaining contestants on the current 10th season of "American Idol" performed earlier this week and viewers had the first opportunity to vote for their favorite singers.

On Thursday's episode, set to air at 8 p.m. ET, the show will reveal who will move on to the next round.

Pia Toscano earned the first standing ovation of the season for her cover of the Pretenders' song "I'll Stand By You" on Wednesday's episode, which featured performances by the 12 female contestants.

The episode also included Karen Rodriguez's bilingual rendition of Mariah Carey's "Hero" and Lauren Alaina's cover of Reba McEntire's "Turn on the Radio."

The 12 male singers left on the show performed on Monday's show. Paul McDonald sang Rod Stewart's "Maggie Mae," Jacob Lusk tackled Luther Vandross' "A House Is Not a Home" and Casey Abrams, who was recently hospitalized for stomach pain, performed a cover of "I Put A Spell On You" by Screamin' Jay Hawkins.

On Thursday's episode, the top 10 contestants - five from each gender - are expected to be named. Various online reports say that judges Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler will also choose "wild card" contestants to move on to the next round, although FOX has not confirmed this.

Thursday's show will also premiere Lopez's new music video for her dance song, "On the Floor." It is the debut single from her seventh studio album, "Love?," which is set to hit stores on April 19. (The date was recently postponed, and was originally set for March 29(.
