Amanda Bynes' plastic surgery reveal: 'I had a nose job' (Photos)
Amanda Bynes has explained why she does not want the press to use old photos of herself -- she says she had plastic surgery and prefers her current look, which has given her more confidence.
The 27-year-old former Nickelodeon child star and "Hairspray" star said on her Twitter page that she had a nose job. She has been making headlines over the past few months due to legal problems in Los Angeles and frequent postings of "selfie" photos, including several that show her in various states of undress.
Bynes, who has become a popular Twitter celebrity as a result and has more than 1 million followers, has often slammed media outlets over their choice of pictures in their coverage of her. She posted the following statement on Twitter on May 5:
"Intouch used a photo from years ago on their cover and I hate it! The reason I've asked all magazines and blogs to stop using old photos of me is I don't look like that anymore! I had a nose job to remove skin that was like a webbing in between my eyes. I wasn't going to tell anyone, but I look so much prettier in my new photos that I don't want old photos used anymore! I'm so sick of magazines and blogs using old photos! When will they stop? I will never look like that again! Having surgery was the most amazing thing for my confidence!"
Bynes did not specify when she had the procedure done. On April 9, she Tweeted a 2009 press photo of herself at a promotional event in Las Vegas, saying: "My favorite pic!"
