A judge has extended Amanda Bynes' psychiatric hold as the former actress' parents attempted to get a conservatorship over their daughter. KABC Television, OTRC.com's parent company, confirmed on Friday, July 26, that the judge overseeing Bynes' case has extended the psychiatric hold she was placed on earlier this week to 14 days. In addition, KABC Television has learned the judge has not ruled on a conservatorship being sought by Bynes' parents because the judge wants to have a dialogue with Bynes. The 27-year-old's next court date is on Aug. 9 in Oxnard, California. People magazine obtained documents filed by Bynes' parents in court. According to the magazine, only Bynes' mother is seeking the conservatorship over Bynes and her finances. Bynes' parents also claim in the documents obtained by the magazine that the former actress "talks incessantly about cosmetic surgeries that she wants to have completed" and that Bynes "has verbally assaulted several people, including family members, through her Twitter account." Singer Britney Spears has been under the conservatorship of her father, James Spears, since February 2008. As the sole conservator, James Spears has control over several decision-making aspects of Spears' personal life but not in managing her assets. Bynes was detained on a 5150 hold for a mental health evaluation after she allegedly started a fire in a driveway in Thousand Oaks. The Ventura County Fire Department received a call at 8:38 p.m. PT on July 22 and responded to a report of a gasoline tank on fire in a driveway in the area. Witnesses at the scene told KABC Television that they saw Bynes on the driveway. They also saw a small plastic gas container on fire. Neighbors ran out and extinguished the fires as firefighters arrived. One witness said he saw Bynes "laying down, stomach up, and her pant legs on fire..." The woman who lives at the home where the fire was said she does not know Bynes and does not have a connection to the actress. At this time, Bynes has not been charged with a crime. Bynes has made headlines for a string of arrests and odd behavior. Most recently, the 27-year-old wore a bright blue wig when she appeared in a New York court on July 9 to face allegations stemming from an arrest over a reported bong-throwing incident. Police say that they were told by an employee at the building that Bynes lit a joint in the lobby. When an officer went up to her unit, she allegedly threw a bong out of a window. No remnants of a marijuana smoking device were found on the ground below. She was detained on suspicion of criminal pot possession, reckless endangerment and tampering with evidence. She is due back in court on Sept. 26. Bynes has a pending DUI case in Los Angeles. She was also arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license. She pleaded no contest and was put on probation for three years. Bynes has also gained attention for her Twitter account. The former actress has over 3 million followers on Twitter and frequently tweets about her plastic surgery plans and celebrities she has deemed "ugly." In addition to her tweets and arrests, Bynes has been sporting several wigs in public since she shaved her head due to what she called "hair damage" from a salon earlier this year.
