Alicia Lagano talks 'Client List,' praises Jennifer Love Hewitt

Alicia Lagano says Jennifer Love Hewitt, who directed her in the Lifetime series "The Client List," is an "awesome boss."

The series focuses on a single mother, played by Hewitt herself, who gets a job as a masseuse in a parlor and offering her clients "extras" to receive extra money in order to provide for her family amid a financial crisis. Lagano plays one of her co-workers, "bad girl" Selena.

"She's an awesome boss," Lagano said about Hewitt. "She's just an amazing person to work with. She's very clever and very witty."

"She directed the season finale, and it was really cool because she's an actress and she knows our end of it and she gave us a lot of freedom," Lagano said about Hewitt. "She knew exactly what she wanted; she knew the shots she wanted. "She came off as a very experienced director. It was great."

The season 1 finale airs on Sunday, June 17. Lagano said: "It's a nice ending to the season, for sure. Twists and turns, cliffhangers, that kind of stuff."

She also said she hopes Hewitt continues to direct episodes of the show.

"She's got a lot on her plate and she handles it great.," Lagano said.

It was revealed earlier this week, before Lagano spoke to OnTheRedCarpet.com, that Hewitt's mother died after a long battle with cancer. Hewitt, who had kept her family life private, Tweeted a message of thanks to her fans.

The series was recently picked up for a second season and will return in 2013 with 15 episodes. Watch a clip below that features Hewitt and actress Cybill Shepherd talking about their characters on the drama series.
