Alicia Keys delivered a powerful rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the Super Bowl XLVII football game between the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers on February 3.

Keys, 32, belted the national anthem at the prestigious event, garnering an immense amount of applause and praise for her piano-arranged rendition.

The "Girl on Fire" singer, who also recently performed at the president's Inaugural Ball, Tweeted about her excitement leading up to the big event.

"Almost ready to sing at the @Superbowl! Is this football appropriate? Heels are my version of cleets! ;-)#SB47," she Tweeted before her performance, along with a photo of herself in a dressing room.

During last year's Super Bowl, Kelly Clarkson belted the famed song and mastered the tricky lyrics and notes without a hitch. It was her first time singing the national anthem at the Super Bowl, but the "American Idol" alum had performed the song at other major sporting events such as the NBA Finals in 2012.

In 2011, Christina Aguilera flubbed the lyrics to the song. The Grammy Award-winning pop artist was supposed to sing the line "O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming," but instead repeated an earlier line. She sang, "What so proudly we watched at the twilight's last gleaming," which is the same line from earlier in the song but with the word "watched" instead of the word "hailed."

In November 2011, "American Idol" finalist Lauren Alaina forgot the lyrics about 17 seconds after she began to sing the "Star-Spangled Banner" at the NFL game.

Perhaps no one is more notoriously known for their problematic performance of the national anthem than comedian Roseanne Barr, whose performance at the 1990 San Diego Padres led to major backlash.

Alternatively, Whitney Houston's rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner" at Super Bowl XXV in 1991 is usually considered by some to be one of the best performances of the song and her performance was sold as a charity single. It later became a certified platinum hit.
