Affleck, Mirren attend Palm Springs International Film Fest
For the 24th year in a row, Hollywood's biggest stars packed up and headed to the desert for the Palm Springs International Film Festival.
Ben Affleck, Helen Mirren, and Naomi Watts were just a few of the A-Listers to attend the big gala.
"It's Palm Springs. What can be better than that?" "Lincoln" star Sally Field told OnTheRedCarpet.com. "This was always a diamond place when I was growing up."
The festival's known for setting the tone early on in the awards season.
"It's very exciting. This is why this one is so enjoyable because it's the beginning of the year. Nobody's coming in with exhaustion," confessed Watts to OTRC Host Rachel Smith. Watts, who's getting quite a lot of buzz about her role in "The Impossible," went on to say "It's a big experience."
For Affleck, who directed "Argo", the quick-paced excitement and of the awards season is both familiar, and new.
"You know I really enjoy each of these events. Matt and I did this circuit you know a very long time ago. It was a very different thing," he told us. "In a weird way, it feels like I'm doing this for the first time."
"It's always lovely to watch people and hear what they say and you know you see extraordinary talent up on the stage at the Palm Springs International Film Festival," said Mirren, who stars in "Hitchcock".
The annual gala benefits the Palm Springs International Film Society.
