Adele and Paul Epworth have won the 2013 Oscar for Best Original Song for co-writing "Skyfall," the title theme from the 2012 James Bond film of the same name. This marks both Adele and Epworth's first win and first nomination.
The winners were announced at a live ceremony that took place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles and aired live on ABC on Sunday, February 24.

This will mark the first time the British artist will sing the track live and also marks her first performance on U.S. television since she performed at the 2012 Grammys last February. The 2013 Oscars is set to include a tribute to the James Bond movie franchise, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
Adele says it is "quite hilarious" that she won a Golden Globe Award, which was given for her title song to the James Bond film "Skyfall," and adds that her appearance at Sunday's ceremony marked her first night out since she gave birth to her son, whose name she refused to reveal.

Adele's record "21" has been ranked the No. 1 best-selling album of 2012 in the United States, marking its second year in a row at the top of the list.
The rankings were revealed by Nielsen SoundScan on January 3. The album "21" has a breakup theme inspired by the 24-year-old Grammy-winning British singer's own love life and contains the hit singles "Rolling In The Deep," "Set Fire To The Rain" and "Someone Like You." The single debuted at 0.07 BST on Friday October 5, which marks the 50th anniversary of the release of the first Bond film, "Dr. No" and is officially known as Global James Bond Day.
Adele has confirmed that she recently recorded the theme song for the upcoming James Bond film "Skyfall."
"I was a little hesitant at first to be involved with the theme song for 'Skyfall,'" Adele said in a statement on the film's official website. "There's a lot of instant spotlight and pressure when it comes to a Bond song. But I fell in love with the script and Paul had some great ideas for the track and it ended up being a bit of a no brainer to do it in the end."
Adele has slammed rumors that she recently wed her fiance Simon Konecki in a secret wedding.
The 24-year-old singer shot down reports that she was already married to the 38-year-old CEO, Tweeting on August 30, "I'm not married...Zzzzzzz"
