Adam Levine said something on "The Voice" results show on Tuesday that many people found shocking and following an online backlash, the singing competition coach took to Twitter to clarify his remarks ... kind of.
During the episode, it was revealed that after a nationwide vote by fans, two out of the top 8 finalists were eliminated -- Sarah Simmons and Judith Hill. Both were on Levine's team. It was apparent that at least one of of them would be cut, as they and coach Blake Shelton's contestant, Holly Tucker, faced elimination.
Adam Levine took some time on "The Voice" on Monday, November 27, to talk about a time before Maroon 5 hit it big and The Roxy, a nightclub / music venue in Los Angeles, wouldn't give the band a dressing room.
Levine's comments came just after contestant Cassadee Pope performed a song by Michelle Brach. The singer Levine recalled a gig the band had when they opened for Branch at The Roxy years ago.

Adam Levine recently spoke out about his personal romantic life and gave a possible reason for his self-proclaimed promiscuity - his love for women.
"There's two kinds of men," the 33-year-old told Details magazine in an interview published in the magazines June 2012 issue. "There are men who are (expletive) misogynist pigs, and then there are men who just really love women, who think they're the most amazing people in the world. And that's me. Maybe the reason I was promiscuous, and wanted to sleep with a lot of them, is that I love them so much."
The final four contestants of the NBC singing contest series "The Voice" took to the stage on Monday a day before the season 2 finale, with what has become expected drama from dominant coaches Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine.
Monday's pre-finale episode saw the two butt heads once again with regard to Levine's contestant, Tony Lucca. The Michigan native, whose history of appearing on "The All New Mickey Mouse Club" with Aguilera when they were younger has been a dominant storyline on "The Voice," has drawn mostly lukewarm and negative critiques from Aguilera.
Adam Levine recently Tweeted a photo of himself sporting a bloody look, which appears to be for a music video.
The Maroon 5 frontman Tweeted the picture, which shows him making a pouty face while donning what appear to be bruises and cuts on his eye and lip, on Thursday alongside the caption: "Rough morning."
When it comes to Christina Aguilera's weight, her "Voice" mentor's co-mentor Adam Levine is keeping his mouth shut.
Howard Stern, a shock jock who is also set to co-judge "America's Got Talent," which airs on their show's network, NBC, appeared to put the Maroon 5 singer on the spot by asking him about the issue during a recent interview on his X-rated Sirius XM radio show.
