Adam Levine sports bloody look in Maroon 5's 'Payphone' music video - watch
Adam Levine sports a bloody, rugged and bruised look in his new music video "Payphone," which was released this week.
The song is the first single from his rock band Maroon 5's new album, "Overexposed," which is the group's fourth major record in almost two years.
In the opening scene for the video, Levine, 33, can be seen under a freeway stranded with only a payphone at his side. The singer and attractive brunette then get into all kinds of hijinks, including a robbery, a car-jacking and a high-speed car chase. The villains chasing Levine in the video are, of course, his own Maroon 5 bandmates. Wiz Khalifa, who is featured on the single, also stars in the clip, performing his verse (Watch below).
"Shot the video for #payphone today. This (expletive) is truly insane. In a great way. Crazy," Levine Tweeted on April 12, later adding on: "From bank robberies to boxing matches. Using music videos to fulfill as many childhood fantasies as possible!"
Levine, who currently serves as a co-mentor on the NBC singing contest series "The Voice," plans to showcase more of his acting chops. He recently confirmed that he would appear in season two of "American Horror Story." It was revealed in March that season one cast members Jessica Lange, Zachary Quinto, Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson would return as new characters in the upcoming season.
"It's going to be fun. And I told [Ryan] I really didn't know what I was doing but he didn't seem to really care," Levine told E! News. "So I'm just going to go and try to [do] acting. I think I'm going to be kind of playing myself so hopefully it will be easy."
Maroon 5's new album, "Overexposed," is available through pre-order for both the standard and deluxe editions on the band's official website.
