Adam Levine accepts 'Sexiest Man Alive' award on 'Kimmel' (Video)
Adam Levine had a little fun with his win for "Sexiest Man Alive" for 2013 during his appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Wednesday, Nov. 20.
The 34-year-old Maroon 5 singer and "The Voice" coach appeared on the late night talk show in front of a blown up picture of his People magazine cover. Video of Levine's appearance on the show can be viewed below.
"He beat me by exactly six abs," Kimmel joked before introducing Levine in the show. "If you think about it, he kind of has an unfair advantage. The guy spends his whole week sitting next to CeeLo, who looks like a Cadbury egg."
Kimmel handed Levine an award for "Sexiest Man Alive," which was a golden hand mirror trophy, and the singer gave a funny, tongue-in-cheek acceptance speech after receiving the award.
"A lot of people kind of trivialize this sort of thing. They say it's shallow, they think it's just a silly media stunt used to sell magazines and perpetuate the image of Hollywood being based on looks and that's totally true. It is," Levine said. "And I'm completely cool with that. This award actually means everything to me."
Levine was named "Sexiest Man Alive" for 2013 by People magazine on Tuesday, Nov. 19. In a separate interview with the magazine, the singer said he expected to get some flak from his bandmates and fellow "Voice" coach Blake Shelton over the honor.
"Who's gonna give me the hardest time for this ... accolade? The band. The band's gonna roast me pretty hard for this one," he said. "Blake Shelton's gonna ... I'll be murderized by Blake Shelton for sure."
