ABC renews 'Scandal,' 'Revenge,' 'Grey's Anatomy,' 'Nashville,' 'Once'
Fans of "Scandal," "Grey's Anatomy," "Nashville" and "Revenge" have a reason to celebrate as ABC announced on Friday, May 10, that those series, as well as a few more, have been renewed for another season.
"Castle" "Suburgatory" and "Once Upon A Time," were also renewed, the network announced. Sitcoms "The Middle," "Modern Family" and "The Neighbors" were picked up for next season as well.
"Scandal" and "Grey's Anatomy" creator Shonda Rhimes Tweeted about her shows getting renewed and said that she has already started working on the next seasons.
"It's officially official that @GreysABC and @ScandalABC are picked up for Season 10 and Season 3, respectively. #bestfansever," she wrote in one Tweet.
Rhimes added, "And now I can tell you that GA Season 10 Writers Room and Scandal Season 3 Writers Room have been going since May 1. So we're already ahead."
In addition to renewing existing shows, the network also picked up a few new shows too, including "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." The show will focus on the secret intelligence organization that was featured in "The Avengers" film as well as other Marvel comics.
The pilot was developed, in part, by Joss Whedon, director of "The Avengers," who will also write for the series. Whedon recently talked to OTRC.com correspondent George Pennacchio at the premiere of "Iron Man 3" about "Avengers 2" and "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Check out his interview here.
The network has also picked up "Pitch Perfect" actress Rebel Wilson's series "Super Fun Night," according to The Hollywood Reporter. The show will revolve around three nerdy female friends, which will include Wilson, who set out to have "super fun" every Friday night.
