'22 Jump Street' red-band trailer: Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill return
Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill are heading to college -- on screen.
The two reprise their roles as undercover cops Jenko and Schmidt in "22 Jump Street," the sequel to the hit 2012 comedy film, and naturally, hijinks ensue. A red-band trailer for the new R-rated movie was released on Monday, Dec. 16. (Watch it here - warning: NSFW, contains cursing, other explicit language, obscene gestures.)
In "22 Jump Street," their characters go undercover at a university in a bid to locate a drug dealer -- a plot similar to the first "Jump Street" film, which took place in a high school. The new movie also sees the return of Ice Cube as Captain Dickson and features newcomer to the franchise, Rob Riggle.
In November, Tatum posted on his YouTube page a video that shows the actor in character on the set of the new movie, spoofing a Jean-Claude Van Damme Volvo Trucks commercial, in which he performs an "epic stunt."
The films are based on the 1980s cop series "21 Jump Street," which helped launch main star Johnny Depp's big-screen career. He made a cameo in the 2012 movie. The new film "22 Jump Street" is set to be released on June 13, 2014.
