Justin Bieber reportedly 'shaken up' after Macy's incident
Singer Justin Bieber's appearance outside Macy's became hectic when he made an unplanned departure to the outside of the department store to greet fans that couldn't attend the promotional event for his new fragrance.
According to WABC Television, the sister station of KABC Television, OnTheRedcarpet.com's parent company, when Bieber began to greet the crowd, fans rushed toward him causing the metal barricades that had been set up there to tip.
While New York City police officers attempted to control the crowd, a 47-year-old private security guard working for Bieber refused to move and was later issued a summons by the department for disorderly conduct.
The NYPD tells the station that no one was injured, however, witnesses report that Bieber was knocked to the ground by an unidentified man. The police department does not believe the singer was rushed by a fan but rather a plainclothes police officer attempting to help with the situation. The singer's team reportedly says he was never knocked to the ground but appeared to be "shaken up" by the incident.
Bieber, 17, was attending an event inside Macy's flagship store in New York, where he was unveiling his new "Someday" fragrance.
"I see that guy going around, but I didn't think anything about it, but all of a sudden he just jumped...Three guys were holding this guy back," a witness told the station.
Bieber returned to a meet and greet event with fans inside the store. The singer has been promoting his fragrance, which sells for $45 a bottle, with appearances on "The Late Show With David Letterman" on Wednesday and popping up on "The Today Show" and "The View" on Thursday.
